I have been an educator for more than 20 years. That includes K-8 classroom teaching and administration. I also have experience as a corporate trainer, a diversity consultant and leadership coach.

My first teaching position was at the Winchester Thurston School in Pittsburgh, PA. As an alum, I was excited to learn they are a member of the Folio Collaborative. Then I moved to San Francisco where I worked at the Hebrew Academy of San Francisco for one year and the Wilkinson School in El Granada, CA, for six years. This was an amazing opportunity to work in an environment similar to a one-room school-house on the coast. With a window to the Pacific Ocean, I spent most of my years there teaching a combined 5th-8th grade classroom. This allowed for greater differentiation, in addition to the natural occurrence of friendships across ages, which is often limited in schools grouped by grade.

I moved to Washington, DC in 2005 and worked at the Lowell School for ten years. I served on various committees, including the faculty Board representative for two years, a member of the strategic planning committee, and on the steering committee of the accreditation team. I led Lowell’s expansion to a middle school and was the Director for five years. Another amazing opportunity, creating a middle school, building upon a solid foundation, mission and philosophy.

I graduated from Boston College with a degree in Elementary Education and Political Science and I have a MA in Educational Administration from San Francisco State. I received a certification degree from iPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching), as a Certified Professional Coach, and served on the Advisory Board for the Emerging Middle School Leaders Institute, an initiative led by Independent Education.

I am excited to be part of the Folio team. This is an amazing opportunity to work with an energetic, dedicated and passionate team. Folio provides an opportunity to do what I most enjoy–leading and facilitating teams who are focused on the critical work of supporting school administrators, faculty and staff with their professional growth and learning.
